Forget-me-not

There are two aspects of this image which immediately engage the viewer: firstly, the use of a large aperture, producing a very small depth of field; secondly, the use of colour, transforming the blue flowers into the dominant element.
Whilst there is a predominance of green in the background, there is enough red and yellow also present (the complementary of the blue) which provide enough contrast to make the flowers appear vibrant and full of life.
In terms of tones, the image is balanced, creating a sense of calm; the absence of strong lines within the image also contribute to this sense of peace and tranquility.
The only slight criticism I have concerns the composition. I would like to see the flowers filling more of the frame, perhaps completely excluding the flowers at the top of the frame, which I find slightly distracting.
Overall, the effect is soothing and restful.
